There are currently only around 22,500 black cabs in London which is a tiny amount for a city of 8.63 million people.
But have ever wondered why? Well, mostly because every driver has to take an exam called “The Knowledge” which is an extremely difficult London geography test that involves learning:
- 320 basic routes
- 25,000 streets that are scattered within those routes,
- 20,000 landmarks and places interest within a six-mile radius of Charing Cross.
London’s black cab is a symbolic city taxi that has been around for years.
